Paul Donnelly

Before co-founding Rollingball in 2009, Paul worked for a decade in the UK television industry on shows including BAFTA award-winning series Cold Feet, The Bill, Coronation Street and Christmas Lights amongst others. That experience laid the foundations for Rollingball’s approach to screen production and the business has gone on to win numerous awards.

Paul has more than 20 years of industry experience and has directed numerous commercials, branded content, and documentaries for clients including Westpac, The Australian Defence Force, BP Australasia and DELL amongst others.

Paul is currently directing a feature-length documentary and an eight-part lifestyle series. His passion for screen content is unwavering and his attention to detail and drive for excellence has seen him emerge as a notable up-and-coming director. He is able to work anywhere in the world either solo or with his crew.  Part of his camera arsenal is REDs, Canons as well as a full set of Prime Lenses – LOMO Super 35.

April Howard

Managing Director • Producer • Account Director

April is the co-founder of Rollingball and works in the role of Producer and Account Director. Her approach is hands-on and she loves working on a project with a creative team. Her experience in a deadline-driven environment, in both the newsroom, Sydney based production companies and three years in an agency, has equipped her with the skills to deliver any job on-time and within budget.

After eight years in the role, April understands the importance of developing relevant communication strategies and their components to ensure a client piece connects with its intended audience.

She credits her farm upbringing as the reason why she values regional business opportunities and is proud of what Rollingball has been able to achieve, creating employment opportunities in a truly regional creative hub, complete with an all-regional team.

Lainey Donnelly

Production Manager • Art Director • Costume Designer

Lainey is Rollingball’s Art Director and Costume Designer. She is a logistics and production extraordinaire with an eye for detail. Lainey knows film and television sets, costumes, designs and how a scene fits together. She draws on the experience of her formative years where she spent time in London as a fashion designer and also worked in the costume department for the UK film and television industry.

With degrees in arts communication and fashion design, Lainey’s ability to visualise, design and conceptualise a film world and translate it onto screen brings Rollingball’s stories to life. Regardless of the budget, Lainey can make the art department work. Lainey has recently completed acclaimed film Gimpsey and Indigo Lake, where she headed the Costume Department on both films. And is currently working on a feature-length documentary and television series.

Andy Grieve

Camera Operator • Editor

After completing a degree in visual communication Andy worked in production for a number of years before joining Rollingball in 2011. Since then he has developed a broad knowledge of the production and digital media industry, working across all departments.

Nothing is a problem when Andy’s on set, whether he’s in the role of operator or assistant on a small or large scale shoot, he approaches each shoot with the same commitment.

In recent years he has focused on his skills in digital media, from creative development through to post-production. Andy enjoys the entire process and challenge of visual storytelling. He approaches every project with a process that allows the client’s vision to be brought to life with the goal to ensure the outcome is beyond expectation.

Emily Lau

Account Director

With fourteen years of project and account management under her belt, Em is an invaluable asset to day-to-day operations of Rollingball.

In recent years Emily’s portfolio of clients included stakeholders within the following areas: Tourism, State and Local Government, Financial, Development, Retail, Charity, Mining, and Infrastructure.

Hanna Rose Robinson


Hannah Rose is Rollingball’s photographer. Collaborating with us over a number of years, she brings with her a detailed eye and a passion for the visual impact even the subtlest of images can hold. An outstanding master at her craft, Hannah is a visual storyteller of the highest quality.

Her photos have more than just subjects. They create a mood, celebrate a lifestyle, tell a story and transport the viewer into each frame.

Her work can be found in national and local projects across the realms of editorial, lifestyle, corporate and industrial. With more than eight years of experience working in the photographic industry, she has shot work for clients and agencies both within the Hunter and across Australia.

Guy Robinson


Guy has been working professionally in the 3D industry since 1998 on a variety of different media from online games, console 3D games, architectural and industrial visualization to TV commercial production. Guy is an excellent communicator, both visually and verbally, and can help clients translate their vision from a concept into reality. An obsessive eye for detail doesn’t go astray either.

His software production experience includes: 3DsMax (extensive), Maya (basic), Photoshop (extensive), Zbrush (extensive), pf track (intermediate), after effects (intermediate), plus various plug-ins and proprietary tools.

Alison Steen

Production Manager • Graphic Designer • Makeup Artist

Alison works across the roles of Production Manager and Graphic Designer given her degree in visual communication and broad skill set. Alison’s attention to detail, thorough understanding of the production process and account management prowess means she can manage your project from inception to delivery.

Leveraging her ability to interpret a brief and use her design skills to deliver work under the guidance of Rollingball’s creative leads, Alison develops beautiful and impactful communication pieces that connect with the audience and assist to deliver its strategy.

Alison has been working at Rollingball for the past four years and has quickly risen through the ranks. she has been a key member in successful campaigns such as On Your Bike and Small Acts Big Change and has begun to head some of Rollingball’s projects as Producer, including the recently delivered #MyMaitland campaign. 

Her support for the team also includes her skills as a makeup artist on set.
