We’d like to congratulate our clients at HCCREMS and Hunter TAFE for winning the Waste Avoidance and Reuse category at the LGNSW 2015 Excellence in the Environment Awards! Their Love Food Hate Waste industry-training program and the team behind it have been given worthy recognition and we were lucky enough to partner with them to produce the supporting films. The program ensures food waste avoidance principles are embedded in professional industry training at TAFE at the grass-root level. The videos feature local award-winning, and Hunter TAFE trained chef, Troy Rhoades-Brown, as well as leading restaurateur Neil Slater and these, along with a lesson plan and supporting resources, will be delivered to more than 500 Hunter TAFE students in the region annually and more importantly, food waste will be front of mind for our apprentice chef’s as they become qualified and enter the industry. If you’re interested in knowing more, contact Hunter Councils or the Hospitality division of Hunter TAFE.
